Nurse Camesha Hart OFFICIALLY FIRED after Interest in Joining Hamas, Calling Jews "Rats" and "Vermin"
“I would refuse to treat you. I don’t take care of animals. Dogs. Rats. Vermin of any kind" wrote Camesha Lynn Hart, former RN at OHSU
An American nurse from the Portland, Oregon area will likely be facing an uphill battle in securing a new job after her antisemitic and pro-Hamas comments on Instagram were exposed, showing that she’d refuse to treat Jews and blaming Israelis like Shiri Bibas for their own deaths.
Registered Nurse Camesha Hart — who I first reported on three weeks ago — has been fired by the Oregon Health and Science University Hospital, sources at the hospital confirmed over the past week.
An official statement from OHSU Interim president was released today confirming that Camesha Hart has been fired. But while the hospital was slow to investigate, Hart had meanwhile taken back to Instagram to post more disturbing content illustrating her hatred of Jewish people.
Furthermore, new posts have come to light showcasing that Hart said she’d “choose to go with H group [Hamas] any day” and that she has been posting materials in support of Hamas. Not Palestinians. Not Gazans. But actual Hamas members. Read on for that.
Previously, Camesha Hart was an instructor at Portland Community College for a few years, and in the run up to this incident, Hart maintained an Instagram page where she advocated in favor of the intifada, told other Jews and Israelis that she’d refuse to treat them and more.
OHSU confirmed three weeks ago by email that they were investigating. A few staff and administrative members from the hospital have reached out to me after I published my first report, with one saying:
“The hospital is very political. Things are very political here. We were instructed not to say anything about her firing, the hospital got…. five thousand emails and calls about her and now the hospital is trying to keep the peace.”
While many people might view this case as a slam dunk against antisemitism, it has ignited significant debate in the Jewish community over what should be considered free speech and whether she should even face consequences for Instagram activity.
Her newly uncovered pro-Hamas postings also add a new layer to this, as she is an American who has a well-documented history of expressing support and sympathy for the terrorist group who did October 7.
Further concern has been raised over her apparent support of Hamas, especially in light of Columbia University Hamas supporter Mahmoud Khalil’s arrest and possible deportation. His crime? Supporting and advocating for Hamas on American soil.
WHAT DID CAMESHA HART ACTUALLY SAY?
If you haven’t been paying close attention to this saga: I’ll fill you in. In late February, Hart took to Instagram to make a series of comments about Israelis, Jews and the conflict in the Middle East. She was posting this type of content for a long time, but it was only revealed to the public thanks to Physicians Against Antisemitism (PAA).
In one post they uncovered, it appears Hart is wishing death on Israelis and Jews.
“May they all meet their ancestors soon!” Hart commented.
In another comment, in response a Jewish woman, Hart wrote “I would refuse to treat you. I don’t take care of animals. Dogs. Rats. Vermin of any kind.”
To a Jewish man, she wrote: “I couldn’t care less. I would refuse to treat you anyway. I would refuse. Because I’m not a vet and I don’t treat dogs.”
Hart also posted about the tragic death of Shiri Bibas, with Hart justifying Shiri Bibas’s death due to her former military involvement. Further, Hart made a cruel quip about how the dead Bibas babies could have been returned “in body bags.”
Shiri Bibas “was fair game [to be killed] as military personnel” wrote Hart, adding that the surviving Bibas family should “be thankful [to Hamas] that [the babies, Kfir and Ariel] weren’t returned in blue body bags and zip ties.”
What’s cruel is that Hart seems to actually visualize the two dead Jews infants, Kfir and Ariel Bibas, dead and in body bags. Who would picture a dead baby with their hands and feet cuffed by zip ties and in a body bag? A nurse?
HART’S UNUSUAL REBRANDING
After her comments about Jews were discovered, Hart changed her Instagram username to “HartFor Humanity” and her handle is now “CareForJustice.” But changing her username didn’t scrub her past history of Instagram posts illustrating her support for Hamas and Palestinians, as many members of the public reached out to me to share her previous posts with me.
“I would choose to go with the H group [Hamas] anyday over your genocidal diaper army. Go away,” Hart pledged when responding to a video about Israel.
In another post, she shares a meme of a woman holding a can of disinfecting spray, writing “Me when zios (sic) follow me or comment on my posts.” While this might be a lighthearted comment in her head, it also shows how the nurse may treat people she perceives as Jewish or Zionists differently in the healthcare space.
Hart has also posted Hamas agitprop for her audience, seemingly celebrating not just ordinary Gazan or Palestinian people, but the uniformed members of Hamas as well, and has shamed former hostages like Omer Shem Tov for meeting with President Trump.
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
With Hart admitting to one source that she’s “not sure yet” about where she might work in the future, she remains steadfast in her convictions.
“Thank you so much for your concern,” she wrote to a pro-Palestinian decoy account that reported their findings to BearJews of Portland Oregon, an small rag-tag activist group dedicated to exposing antisemitism.
She continued: “Thank you so much. I’m not sure yet, but thank you so much for your concern. I have no problems compared to Palestine. And I will always fight for justice! Love to you, my friend.”
MOVING FORWARD
Her case has ignited a fierce debate about antisemitism, anti-Zionism and the potential for for accountability in the face of public scrutiny. Hart has not publicly addressed any of the comments online about her except in her GoFundMe, where she’s asking for 20K to “fight online bullies”. (The GoFundMe has since been shut down; in three weeks it only raised 220$).
It remains to be seen if the State Board of Nursing will revoke her license for violating the Nurses Hippocratic Oath, also known as the Florence Nightingale Pledge.
Though she is under investigation, sources in the medical field have said it’s unlikely she will lose her license. However, her current license to practice as a Registered Nurse expires in November, and it remains to be seen if Hart will try to renew it.

Her Go Fund Me says she’s being bullied by “antisemitic groups.” I don’t think that means what she thinks it means…
If this nurse had said she refused to take care of black people, there would be no controversy about her firing. Also, if Khalil had come here from Germany and been on college campuses advocating for a Neo Nazi organization, there would be no controversy about his "right" to remain in this country. Ironically, he IS advocating for a Neo Nazi organization.
