“For over a century, leading Islamic thinkers and theologians have examined their civilization’s history, grappling with the dramatic decline of a once-great empire. They contemplate how Islam — once the epicenter of scientific advancement and geopolitical power, home to the world’s largest astronomical observatory in the 16th century — could fall so far. They pondered how their empires, which had once expanded to the middle of France and halfway to Afghanistan within a century, had lost their dominance.” They have replaced enlightenment with terror! They give nothing significant to the world today but destruction, and the desire to set society back hundreds of years. There is nothing rest of the world better wake up to this fact before it is too late!

“How Islam could fall so far?”

1400 years of marrying their cousins might have had something to do with it. Also treating half of their human capital as cattle has something to do with it. Oh, and death cults seldom contribute much to civilization, and Islam today IS a death cult.

You state that, unlike Judaism, Islam took geopolitical success as evidence of God’s favor. Judaism was never as aggressive as Islam, but there is ample documentation of a Jewish belief that the fortunes of Jewish states were related to the piety of the people and their rulers

But is he wrong though? Or are you just pointing out a parallel thinking process in Judiasm that's also seen in Islam?

The latter. He’s certainly right about Islam

Good summary. Thank you. I think it is good to point out the misalignment of perception related to the "European" (or liberal) mentality, which tends to take it from the "fairness" and "equality" standpoint, while the aggressor is literally at war and have an established philosophy behind the action.

Zionism and the rebirth of the modern state of Israel is a theological affront to their view of Islam. Most Muslim schools believe that Jews lost their claim on Israel almost from the beginning because they didn't follow Islam but rather killed prophets and deviated. This is one of the reasons why Muhammad had to come in their theology. And this justified the Jews of the Hijaz, who had taken in the early Muslims after their expulsion from Mecca, being conquered by Muslims. Jews were to be a perpetually subject people living under the ritual Jim Crow of Dhimmitude. Jews restoring Israel fundamentally undermines this entire set of reasoning within Islam. And that's why Muslims are so much angrier at Israel than they are at China or Russia, which are occupying Muslim land and killing Muslims or in the case of China actually committing genocide.

Thank you for a very good and pertinent analysis. It also explains indirectly why , since the very beginning, the successive Israeli governments have totally misunderstood the motivations of the Arabs and thought it was a problem of borders that could eventually find a solution through compromises. They thought as many Israelis did, that being generous, accommodating and friendly would soften the Arab’s attitude through appeasement and that this could lead to some sort of peaceful arrangement. Oct 7 was a wake up call. A terrible desperate one.

Great piece. An essential one when you think of so many ignorant Western leaders, who hate the West so much, supporting “the Palestinian cause” right after October 7th. One thing is clear, their expansion in Europe and the US in the 21st century -paid by suicidal Western taxpayers- is precisely what they aimed for to justify their ideology of conquest.
